I just got a new laptop with windows 7 and would like suggestions on a RAW viewer. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

What camera format?

I use fastpictureviewer. It is a freeware download that uses a codec so images are shown with Windows Photo Viewer. http://www.fastpictureviewer.com/downloads/

thanks for the responses my RAW files are NEF, but I may not want to limit myself to only those. I have friends with other brand cameras. I was researching FPV and it looks like a great option - lots of formats are supported.

I'm still using XP, but I'll bet it work fine with 7: FastStone Image viewer. It's free and currently is my preferred image viewer. It handles RAW and everything else.

Another vote for FastStone Image viewer. I have used this image viewer on both Nikon and Canon camera raw files. Excellent product, each release gets better with more features. I donated $25 because I liked this freeware so much and have been using it for the last 3 years. It works just fine with Windows 7.
