Tranquility
Digging way back into the archives here. One of my first decent images ever captured on slide film, May of 1999. (I was 20 at the time). This is the Drift River, in Oregon's Drift Creek wilderness. One of only three small areas of preserved rainforest wilderness left in the Oregon Coast Range. It was raining at the time and I liked the misty background upriver. Yes, there are a few flaws like blown out water but I thought I would share it anyway. Canon EOS Rebel G (seriously), Fuji Velvia 50, Polarizer.

I've admired this one before, Marc.. To me it always looked a bit like mid way up Tanner Creek..

My first Canon was a Rebel G, which I got back in 1997. My first auto everything and almost my last from fighting the auto focus.

Nice picture. Really has a soothing effect from the shaded subdude light.

Nice to see where it all started and thanks for sharing about this area of Oregon. I didn't know about it until now.

I think the name is perfect, this scene is so tranquil. Nice to see a glimpse of where your vision started.

Tranquil indeed Marc! It's fun looking back at one's first tentative steps into photography as an art form!

I like how the cascade bends into the lower left hand corner. Yeah the water is blown out in places and there's a bit of a green color cast but hey it still rocks as a motivator for getting deeper into Nature Photography!!

You've come far young Marc!!

wish I were there...it reminds me of a few areas I used to explore along the north umpqua river~area, in high school. Too bad most of my slides from back in my film days got destroyed in the flood of '96

Thanks for posting, Marc

Beautiful shot all the way around. I don't mind the blown highlights. There's something about Velvia that invites the eye to linger a while.
