I posted a wider shot of this Dahlia a few weeks ago in Flora. This isn't a cropped version just a tighter shot. A cut flower I picked up at Jim's Dahlia's near Enumclaw, I ordered some bulbs and looking forward to growing my own firepot's next year. I think the name suits this variety beautifully.

I agree with your choosing this variety of dahlia, the colors are really beautiful. I like your comp. with this closeup and the extra bud's placement. Well done Bruce!
Nice one, Bruce. Love the placement of the bud- unique. Wonderful color on this dahlia and such the apt name for it. Fun photo.

Bruce, I'm trying to find the address of Jim's Dahlias, but am having no luck. Do you have it?

James, I'm not !00% sure but try 24528 SE 400th St, Enumclaw, WA 98022.
I go by there on my commute and driving by it looks like the Dahlia's are still in good shape. I don't think you'll be disapointed. I think I paid 40 cents each for cut flowers and bulbs are about $3-4. I think you can get bouquets for just a few bucks. I've only been there once but he did say photographers are welcome. He has many rows of Dahlia's with landscaping cloth between the rows for a walking surface. It's a very nice little Dahlia farm. Check it out.

Bruce --
The address was correct. What a nice place -- the dahlias were still in top form, and the people working there were very friendly. I got out my smartphone and showed one of them your photo; they were very impressed.

Glad you found the place James. Looking forward to seeing any shots you may have taken. This morning I noticed another large Dahlia patch on the left closer to Krain Corner, but it's hard to tell who owns it. It's just kind of out in a large field.

Bruce, this is a very strong shot. I think the positioning of both the main flower and the bud really work to create a synergy in the frame. The colors are incredible too. Well done.
