Dunlin tug-of-war
Hi all
I've not long got back from the Shetland Islands where I've been finishing off a project on gannets. Whilst I was up there I spent a few days lounging around on a beach working with the local waders when this hungry dunlin showed up. The annoying, distracting and frustrating white blob behind the dunlin is one of many ringed plovers which were constantly scurrying into the background of loads of my images. C&C's always welcome

Good one ! The white doesn't bother me too much.

I didn't even notice the white blob until I read your comment. The tug of war got my full attention. Great shot.

Stunning shot!! Would love to have this in my files!
The white "blob" is somewhat drawing the attention but is easily removed in PS.

Haha, excelletn timing.

Excellent timing and composition. The OOF whiteness does not bother me at all, but your annoyance is justified as it would be a cleaner image if it where not there.

Time well spent, and a very nice and different image.

Love it. A super moment expertly recorded - the white blob does not bother me at all. :toast:

Fantastic! I want to "ping it". Low angle makes the shot. I would remove the blob if printing it, but not for a competition.

I'm guessing the worm lost the tug-of-war then?
A well timed capture, nice to see a shot of one doing something rather than just posing
Well done.

Geoff.

Shame about the white dot but it's there. Still a very strong image which should be in my archive and not in yours.

Stunning image with a very strong composition. I'm immediately drawn to the action and not the "blob" so it does not bother me.

Lovely, he gave you a great pose and a very stroing composition here, I also did not notice the white blob until you mentioned it

Was it baited?

Fantanstic shot - the viewer's attention is held by the bird's behaviour; the light blob doesn't really figure.

Cheers,
Chris

Hello Andrew.

Excellent capture and great timing.

I would just darken the blob down a little.
