I was sat on a bench in a graveyard one Sunday with my camera and Bigma around my neck Nothing unusual about that I hear you say
when a robin landed on top of this cross, so I instinctively shot it.
I didn't think I'd ever use the shot but unlike in the days of film, this digital method is more or less free so I wasn't wasting anything.
When I saw it up on my PC monitor how I interpreted this image was that sadly, a person has died and been buried, their loved ones have left some flowers in a nice new vase at the foot of their grave and now this robin is using the cross as a perch.
This person has died yet life carries on all around.
Perhaps I think too much eh? , what do you think, about the photo I mean, not about me thinking too much
Top, bottom and right are all as shot, I just removed some distractions from the left to concentrate on the main part of the photo.

It's nice to have a picture that says something Graham. Very few wildlife images say anything more than this is what a robin looks like. The dark area on the right is a bit overbearing for me but having said that it does concentrate the attention on the main elements in the shot and I do think it would help if you lifted the shadows on the robin a bit, but I like the idea behind this most. A very personal image so what we all think is irrelevent really.

I've always wanted to be unique. I'm sorry it had to be on your thread Geoff.
