Crested Tit - (Lophophanes cristatus)
One of my favourite little birds. At A3 it is pin sharp considering the techs!

Hi Steve,

Also one of favourite birds.

A superb shot given the techs. :toast: :toast:

I love the background (Smooth and clean my favourite!) The bird is pin sharp with lots of detail in the head and plumage.

A minor nit is the OOF branch middle right in the frame, but I colud live with that if it were my image

I like it. A different setting but still a natural setting for these birds. Nice colors which match perfectly. Well done sir.

Hi Shaun, know what you mean, but it's 'as shot' and happy to leave the gardening.

Edwin, perhaps I'm taking a leaf out of yours & Des's way of thinking  BTW, its a real living tree in a nice new location, not a broken branch

Cheers

Difficult to do, a bird in a natural setting but standing out from its background but you seem to have cracked it! :toast: Love it.

I like the tones and colours...it doesn't look setup either with is a plus for me too. There is dust spot though between the needles on the lower branch.

Hi Stephen

Lovely soft lighting, great BG and perch. Very minor nit it's a pity that the outline of the crest is lost a little against the lichens on the branch.

Thanks guys.

Will address that Ian when I take a look later.

Hi David, primarily I wanted to get the shot because of the location, however this was to the sacrifice of not illustrating the wonderful crest as you quite rightly said. I have others which illustrate the crest, but my fear is that it looks like another boring 'BOAS', however its in a natural location and not a set up.

cheers

It's admirable that it's a natural location and not a BOAS but for me the bird is just a little bit lost against the branch. It's a shame you couldn't have moved a little to the left as I think the curve in the branch might have framed him nicely. :toast:

I like it Steve, and I appreciate it's a natural setting but if I'm being honest the multitude of twigs at the bottom is is too much for me, they keep grabbing my eye.
