Fresh, not tinned!
Both light and tide was ebbing away and few salmon were making their way upstream. Patiently the grizzly waited until after what seems hours she made a move and got the prize. For once mood & light was more important I felt and the blue hue adds rather than the more cooler grey, but guess it's all subjective.

I really like this Steve. The light and the colours are lovely, but it is the fish that takes centre stage and makes it so very different from the majority of bear and salmon shots that I have seen.
Super shot.

A brilliant capture, for both you and the bear
Well done.

Geoff.

Very very very nice. The lighting is beautifully evocative, and the picture says so much about fish. Just when you think you've seen all the variations of bear/salmon picnic pics there might be, its refreshing to be presented with this cracker. Well done.

The fish and eye contact with it really make this Steve as already said. Must have been great to be so close to these giants :toast:

Cracking image Steve, it must have been a real joy to behold. I hope to return to Alaska at myself at some point. It is where, in September 1999, that I first had the idea of combining my love of wildlife, travel and photography into a job!

Your a sly old dog  , you show us a few of the shots you took but always hang onto the best.
The light is fantastic and it looks like the bear is proudly showing of its prize.

Again I'm probably picking at the bones but would the image be improved by some eye contact with the bear?

Hello Steven.

Beautifull captured and the composition is perfect with the fish being completly side on, but it the trailing water comeing of the fish that really makes this for me.
