Mute Swan
700mm f6.3 1/640 iso800 Teeny-tiny rotation so I've lost 80 pixels off the full frame. Feather and detritus cloned out.

Hi all

I'd be glad to here a few thoughts regarding the composition on this one - does it work or is it a bit left-side heavy?
Shot under-exposed by a stop and waited for the swan to drift to the dark reflected area of a tree line to get a white on black image.

Composition works fine for me Simon and I particularly like the contrast between the swan and the dark water.

Looks OK to me.
Personally maybe a tiny bit more space at the top but no big deal.
Lovely whites .

Hi Simon, I agree with John by needing a little more room above, but overall a lovely image. Great contrast between the blacks and whites here. Very nice indeed.

I find that the very fact you are thinking it may be a bit too much to the left usually means it is. In this case I would agree and say yes, lose a bit from the right. That apart (and we're talking very minor nit there) it is a lovely image with perfect exposure. Nice one.

A great capture

My first thoughts were that it needs a bit off the right.
It's a lovely image, well done.

Contrast of swan against the dark BG works really well. Agree with JR about a bit more room on top.

Losing pixels and cloning tut tut
