Kind of a surreal scene I came across in the Palouse.
The smooth textured brown mounds appeared to go on forever reaching into the sky.

Cool, Harald. That area closest to the horizon really interests me, it has that "I could reach out and touch it and it might be miles away" look to it.
I'd crop out a bit above the main cloud and about a third of the bottom, but that's just me though.

Harald, my first impression was WOW! I really like the scene and how you captured it. After looking it over a while, I found that the sky was a little less appealing tan at first glance. There is something about the partial clouds in the LRH area of the sky, where they meet the horizon. The partial clouds just don't work well for me. Now I know that they are beyound your control, just wondering if there was any movement to them and waiting a few moments may have allowed a better set of clouds for the shot.
One suggestion that I do have for this photo as is would be to run some noise filtering on the sky so as to smooth it out a little bit. I hope that my input is not gound offensive and low and behold, you really have a very nice photo of a very pretty scene.

Elizabeth, Mark, and AJ,
Thanks for looking and for the kind comments.
AJ -- Interesting that you mentioned the location of the clouds. I did observe the scene for about an hour until the sky became overcast, and this moment had the best cloud formation with the most favorable light to bring out the curves in the hills. Personally I kind of liked the way the small clouds are creeping out from behind the hills, as it melds the earth and sky, perhaps just my taste.
The Palouse is awesome for these kind of spacey scenes. I'm still hoping to get some images of the yellow canola or mustard fields sometime.
