Fallow Deer
1D Mk iv, 600mm f4, 1/250s, f4.5, iso 1000. Cloudy with drizzle. Added a little canvas left and bottom.

These are far less common than red or roe deer in my area, and I was pleasantly surprised to come across a family of them. Only managed a few images before the heavens opened and we all scampered for cover. Shame about the weather, because we saw red grouse, black grouse, buzzard, kestrel, red kite, red deer, roe deer, red squirrel, buzzard - all in one afternoon in Perthshire! Nothing much to show for it though

Very cute Ian, like the soft processing....or was it the drizzle  I'd love some drizzle, damn sun....

Definitely got the cute factor here. Nice detail and love the heather setting. I think as a personal view I would prefer it without the sky though. :jump:

Cute is the word
The OOF grasses top left are a bit distracting but hey, that's nature photography for you, still a great image though.

Geoff.

A lovely portrait Ian and very fortunate that the oof youngster in the background is looking the same way. I guess some will say it needs more room but a tight portrait like this is as valid an image as one with more environment.

Very Nice Ian - for me it is a little tight in the frame especially at the bottom to allow for the virtual feet.
