El Salvador Bird ID
I couldn't find anything that resembled this in the bird books I had, so I hope someone more familiar with Central American birds can help.

Photographed on an Island off the coast of El Salvador in June. There were a few of them hopping around in the trees making some noise. I apologize about the atrocious quality of this image...

Luke, looks like a flycatcher to me. Perhaps a Slate-headed Tody Flycatcher? Found a picture in my Peterson Mexican Birds that looks similar. With some imagination I think I see some white between the eye and the bill.

Cindy, I would compare it to a nuthatch in size.

Luke -

If it is that small, then Hilke has a good call. Tody Flycatchers are about nuthatch-sized. The problem is that there are about 14 of them. Slaty-headed Tody-Flycatcher (Poecilotriccus sylvia) is a good guess, based on location. As you say, the photo isn't ideal for ID.
