Lake Sabrina (fall color)
I had an awesome time shooting the fall colors with Steve Sieren and Chris Chamberlain this past weekend along Bishop creek. It was also nice to meet everyone at the meetup on Sunday and to see some very nice work in print.

This image was taken on Sunday after the meetup. Chris and I returned to this location the next morning to photograph the snow-capped peaks from that night's storm, but I chose this one to work on first because I thought this long exposure captured the magic of the scene as I like to remember it.

As always, any comments, suggestions or critiques are always welcomed.

Cheers!

This is beautiful, Eric! I've never seen Lake Sabrina so lovely in the fall.

Beautiful. The light clouds move, but the dark water is still.

Those colors are electric. I like what you have done with the shoreline compositionally.

Beautiful, Eric! Fantastic composition that really shows off the lake at its best. Boy I hope some of those colors are still there next weekend.. I was busy this past weekend :frown:

Eric,

Very nice meeting you as well, you must have busted every speed record in the book to make it back to Sabrina Sunday after noon. You climbed up to a really nice perch on the south side of the dam. This is a really great image Eric, love that motion in the sky. After the meet I took my daughter to Mono South Tufa ( she had never been there) went to the west parking lot and caught a rainbow behind the east formations. Then had to satisfy myself on a small grove of medium sized aspens on June lake Loop that had turned.

Very well composed. Great image. Agree with Richard on how you positioned the shoreline in the photograph. Well done.

Floris, Unfortunately I would imagine the upper aspen groves will be well past their prime after this cold front moves through. Though there was considerable green still in the lower elevations and other canyons, so those areas might be great by the time you get up there.

PERFECT! I wish I'd got my act together and made it back up there to get a few shots of the sunset. Cloud action is awesome, and the color processing is right on. I hope I got something good from the next morning, cause if it's anything close to this, I'll be real happy!

It was a great time, and very nice to meet you, finally.

Some fine color and cool sky! It sure was a good year for reds and oranges on the east side!!
