I have spent the last couple of days up at Bradgate, working with the Deer. I have been working on a couple of images and this is one of them, it is not finished yet so work in progress.
I like the silhouette, and I like the way the leaves are retaining some of their colour (non-silhouette) but I'm not too fond of the deer looking out of that side of the image.

Mmmm. Not sure what to say about this Danny, The Deer looks a bit 'caged in' to me, but what do I know!?

really like this, only 3 tones in the image, the stark outlines of the trees and deer with the black framing of the image gives this a very 2D/graphic quality, composition works as is i think which i don't think it would with the deer facing upslope
I think the setting and silhouette is excellent but it doesn't quite work for me with the deer so close to, and about to leave the frame. If she had of been facing the other way it would have worked better IMO.

Not sure on this one I am no expert I know but the deer just doesn t seem right somehow, maybe like Andy said if it was facing the other way
Works for me. The deer looking out adds an element that I really like - that the photographer is not disturbing the animal (its not fixed on him) and has been distracted by something else we dont and cant know about which lends a certain air of mystery to the shot. Theres also a sort-of 'zen' thing going on here I cant quite put my finger on but which I like and has to do with the three 'slots' formed by the tree trunks, each containing a 'shape' which is a simple curve at left, becomes an angular shape in the middle and then a fully-formed deer on the left. This is far from being a simple image imho and I like it very much.

Hi - my eye is being dragged to to the colours in the trees....I think the overall idea works though but as Jules says need a bit more development. Its certainly got that 'I'm a bit different' feel to it! I like the lower curvature in the lower half of the shot leading left to right
Sorry Danny but to me the Deer seems to be "falling out" of the frame. I am sure you have something up your sleeve though and look forward to seeing it.
