Tawny owl (c) + repost
I am declaring this shot as taken in captivity, but even if I had not there is a dead giveaway in the photo. I have cloned it out in some versions, but I know how some people like a puzzle.

You certainly seem to have made the most of your time with these owls David. A nice image that mimics the wild conditions I would expect to find a Tawny Owl in. I do find it a bit cold looking though, so perhaps a little judicious use of the warming filter?

Cheers, Vince.

There's the giveaway, if you can see a man on a ladder reflected in the eye of a bird there's a fair chance it is a captive shot.

Easily cloned out of course, but that's less fun.

What a beautiful and well composed image.

Nicely done David but at this size I don't think most viewers can see a guy on a ladder.. Have to agree with Robert about the WB.. Needs to be warmed a bit to give a little more punch.

Thanks Robert and Brett. You are right about the image needing some warming, and more thanks to Brett for his help in producing the revised version. As for most viewers not being able to see the guy on a ladder, I know how eagle eyed most users of this site can be!
