Hi Maggie. Not sure about this one - the light may be working against you here as the deer seems a bit lost in the back and foreground colours and detail. On saying that its far better then anything I could muster at Petworth yesterday.

Hi Maggie, this one works very well for me. The light is superb and shows him off a treat. I personally feel a little more bracken across the bottom would have helped the composition even more. That said it is still a great image, well done gal :wavey:

Lovely shot Maggie, i can see where James is coming from as i had to come back and look a few times, but on the whole i really like it :) Must get up to Bradgate one day and see if i can even see one :)

You have caught some lovely light here Maggie and this shot deserves more replies than it has had imo. I must admit that I would have liked to see the same image with the deer a bit smaller in the frame, so it didn't look quite so 'beheaded'. Lovely rich autumn clours though.

Maggie

Fantastic autum colours but for some reason my first thought was a hunting trophy or as Eric quotes "Beheaded" position in the frame is so different to the norm.

Appreciate all your comments. Fran I agree about a little more bracken. Will give it another try next weekend. Eric and Barry I can see your point about "beheaded" and a "hunting trophey" but I just thought it was something a little different (and if we all wore brown suits......
Kim nice to know you are alive and kicking. Where have your been

Hi Maggie

Great colours and light - for me just a little more room at the bottom.

An impressive buck Maggie. I would agree with Eric that a slightly wider view would have improved the shot as the deer could do with some room for the 'virtual' body. Lovely lighting on those antlers.

So close, a 200mm lens would have nailed it , still a nice shot though.
