Blimey, the stuff being posted at the moment is outrageous! Such quality about. Here's my weekend effort, some armchair work in the line of duty on mother's day.

Cheers now

Well the bg is tiny bit distracting but the sharpness and pose make up for that - great image! :toast:

BTW - What are you doing sitting in an armchair on Mothers day - get to the washing up!

Nice Blackbird in a typical pose, often overlooked but can be great subjects.

The belly seems to be filling up, not easy to expose, perhaps a touch of fill would have helped?

Hi Tim
Nice sharp portrait of an alert bird - did well to get the camera out on Mother's Day!
Cheers Simon

Dear Tim,
Well done for resisting removal / alteration of the background! The value of the image is, apart from being very sharp and well lit, is that I now know blackbirds like shrubby areas in gardens. Backgrounds are important story telling tools.

Hi Tim,
A lovely portrait of an often over-looked but charasmatic garden visitor.

A bird I'm yet to photograph, and I've been clicking away more than half my life

Every time I see one I think "I'll get you later", never do though.

I like this for it's realistic simplicity. Just as a blackbird should be.

Hi Tim

Glad to somebody else dealing in garden exotica. Really nice shot - It's difficult, with blackies, to get that balance betwen feather detail and blowing the highlight on the bill. Possibly worth some playing with PS - I find the rhs oof stem to be somewhat distracting.
