I'm just back from 10 days out of town, so am a little out of the loop.
Did get a drive through the park earlier and there is lots of color. Many of the maples and hickories are approaching peak. Oaks are starting to change. Beeches still to come.
The problem here is lack of water. Our area waterfalls are at pretty low flow. We're expecting a bit of rain on Thursday, but the long-term forecast is for cool and sunny.
I shot this image of Blue Hen earlier this evening. You can see the low flow level. The trees in the BG are beeches that haven't started to turn yet. The canopy overhead is mostly maple and these are near or past peak. I expect a lot more leaf drop by the weekend, especially if we get some wind on Thursday.
I'll be out shooting this weekend, as I expect the weekend of the 23rd may be past peak.
Happy shooting!

Chuck -
This is running about two weeks early, isn't it?
I was planning on being up there the last weekend in October which I think has been pretty good in the past but that photo isn't looking good for those plans.
Nice shot, by the way!

Dan,
It does seem to running about 2 weeks ahead. We're expecting rain and wind over the next two days. Sunny over the weekend. Lots of leaves are coming down outside my window. I'm sure the last weekend of October will be too late. I'm not sure about even waiting until the weekend of the 23rd.
The forecast also doesn't bode well for improving the flow over our waterfalls.

I'm going to make the best of it this weekend.
