Hi All,
Here's a video of the Yellowstone grizzly with four cubs taken this last June during our trip through there. They were at least a half-mile away, so appear pretty small in the picture. You can see the cubs bouncing up from behind the sage. Equipment used: Canon Rebel T2i with 600mm/4 and 1.4X teleconverter.

Ken, I would love to see this movie but it requires Apple Quicktime to be installed.; any possibility you could upload to Youtube which doesn't require additional software to be installed?
By the way, nice meeting you at Maroon Lake last month. Hope you enjoyed the rest of you trip.

I tried viewing with my stock Windows PC and after declining the recommendation to upgrade the browser and use a Quicktime plugin, it seemed to work. Anyone else having issues?

I'm a PC and I had no problems.
I'm amazed that you could pick up that audio from the bears from that distance. I assume dad is just out of frame, because I distinctly heard a grown male's voice talking about how he'll stay for a month now and a month in the fall, or something like that. I didn't realize the mic pick-up from these slr's was so sensitive.
But seriously, that's cool, Ken. I'd scrap the audio altogether. What in the world do you use for support? That video is pretty much rock solid. I mean, isn't your equivalent focal length over 1300mm? There's nary a vibration to be seen.

Thanks Todd. Big Gitzo tripod and gimbal mount. Yeah, I'll replace the side chatter with bear growls!

I'd love to see it, but it requires QuickTime installation and there's no alternative.

For those that don't have or don't want to have Quicktime on their computers, I just downloaded it (choose the iPod/iPad option) and played it using the VLC media player, which I already had installed. Windows Media Player might play it too but VLC is my default since it plays pretty much all formats.
Anyway, that was a pretty cool vid. Thanks for sharing it!

Saw it no problem on my PC, but I have Quicktime installed on it..
Jeff and John: Why don't you want to install Quicktime? Are there problems with it that I'm not aware of? I installed it years ago because of a lot of kayak videos use Quicktime and have had no problems with it, that I'm aware of. Does it interfere with other software?
Ken: Didn't you take your 20 foot stepladder along on your trip? Even with only glimpses of the quads it was still a fun video to watch. Actually the popping up of the heads was very funny!

OK, just for all you PC folks, I just uploaded to YouTube!

Don: Last time I installed Quicktime it came with lots of other software that I didn't want on my system. Things like iTunes and some persistent services which I had no use for but took up memory, processor time and in some instances made a nuisance of themselves by requesting to be updated.
Disclosure: I'm a software engineer so I'm likely far more aware of and particular about what runs on my computers.
