I have had several requests from people that would like to purchase a print of themselves standing next to a famous person. I have hundreds of such photos.

I would like to have a site where people can view thumbnails of thier photos, select a print option, use a credit card or paypal and have thier selected prints mailed to me. I do not have a photo printer and need to use a printing service. Also, some of the photos must be protected from viewing or use by unauthorized people. I am thinking some sort of security code that is unique to each viewer, so I can control who has access. Also, it would be best if each person could be limited to viewing only the thumbnails that I have authorized them to see.

I have a website at ImagePro, but it is just a gallery and as far as I can tell, does not have the features I need.

Any suggestions? Also what does a website with these features cost?

Thanks for your consideration.

Hey Roland. I would check out Photoshelter. You get your own customized site and archive which you can make into a full e-commerce site with them handling all of the transactions if you wish.

Smugmug and Zenfolio both have pro accounts with ecommerce features like you mention. I have used both and perfer smugmug for the customizability. But Zenfolio is come along quite nicely. A lot of folks seems to like Photoshelter as well. I would just compare the features of those companies and see which best meets your needs. The pricing, maximum storage capacity, design flexiblity, ecommerce features, layouts, etc... are all different.

I use smugmug and this is possible there, I've also thought about purchasing a photoshelter account an addition to smugmug. People actually find stuff on my site from google searches.

Roland,
I use Livebooks for my web site and it has all of the client features you are looking for. The yearly fee is reasonable, but the initial cost is a bit pricey. You might also check out Pictopia, as I understand they are going to return to some the features you are seeking and they will also print your images for you. Best Regards.
