After a long time of working here at Ohio, I will be getting some free time. But don't know where to go? Alaska (Denali)? Florida? Smokey Mt.?...
Any suggestiongs? My plan is to take Apri 1st to 15th.

Reza,
Wow What a question?. I guess it depends on what you want to shoot. The wildflowers in the SWest are not going to happen great this year due to the lack of rainfall. It might be a bit early in the Smokies too. If it were me, I probably would head to to FLorida or maybe to the California Coast in & around San Francisco. But it all depends on what you want to shoot!
I don't think you'd get too far in Denali in April unless you plan on snowshoing

Hmm. Anything north of I-70 won't really have any color yet. Anything north of I-94 will still be snow covered. Many of the birds are gone from Florida by now. Anything in the mountains is still in winter and most roads are closed. The good news is that the Desert Southwest is gorgeous and the temps shouldn't be unbearable yet. I think I'd head to Utah, or maybe even the Grand Canyon if you've never seen it. Definitely the Grand Canyon if you've never seen it.
Reza, if you don't mind traveling, the spring migration of a number of birds will be in full force during the time you whish to take off. Best areas are along the Texas coast, including High Island east of Galveston Bay, the Brazoria and San Bernard NWRs west of Freeport, and several refuges in the Rio Grand valley.
I you are really lucky, you can experience a "fall out" along the upper coast when a cold front comes through. The birds that are so tired after crossing the Gulf of Mexico from the Yucatan that they literally "fall out" of the sky when the reach landfall.

If I had that time, I'd go Canadian Rockies or up PCH from So Cal to Crescent City, over the Coastal Mountains to Mt. Shasta and back down to So Cal.
I'd like to suggest Big Bend National Park. Beautiful. Warm.

I went to Denali mid May last year, and even thought there wasn't a lot of snow, you cant drive more then a few miles in as its closed off until the end of May. So you won't be able to get to Wonder Lake, or or anywhere close to it.

According to them, the poppies should be coming along nicely in two weeks... and Joshua Tree is starting up too.
You could fly into LAX and just play it by ear... that site updates content every Friday.

I like Richard's suggestion. If you time it right you might even get the SoCal desret flower bloom.
