Color vs. black & white
All in one image! As in, the competition between the vibrantly colorful foreground and the monochromatic background.

Real nice fade and layers! The fading fog (?) imparts a bit of mystery into the scene.
So...do you just snap your fingers to make these weather conditions appear for you all the time?
Perhaps made a deal with someone on some crossroads somewhere?

I feel let down, i was all excited about the decision i was going to have to make... :frown:
Well, smarty, here's my suggestion--desaturate the blues in the sky/peak so its as close to B&W as you can get without it looking stupid. Ordinarily, id argue for the nice blue-yellow contrast here, but i think you inadvertantly nailed it by pointing out that the real strength of this is between color and no-color, not blue/magenta and yellow. Just a thought

Very cool! I really like that fade to black(and white)

And my favorite guitarist, Steve Vai, played the devil's part at those crossroads.

Layered, semi-abstract yet three dimensional, great color palette, dramatic: damn fine shot, Todd!

And my favorite guitarist, Steve Vai, played the devil's part at those crossroads.

You would have killed to see some of the shows ive seen with Stevie baby (one of the only benefits of growing up on LI) Two highlites: Vai trading licks with Mike Keneally (of Beer for Dolphins) on Paganini's Caprice #5 (the Crossroads solo). And 2) Vai playing the guitar like Mozart in Amadeus (upside down, on the ground and behind his head) with Billy Sheehan holding the guitar for him. Sick man...

Hmm, I think I like the purple one the best.

And not to get into a "favorite guitarist" debate, but I'll take Albert Lee, Ritchie Blackmore, Rory Gallagher, or Joe Satriani over Vai.

Albert Lee, definitely. Satch was my biggest inspiration, but Vai kept growing while Joe languished. Danny Gatton could put them all to shame easily in his prime--no contest.

This is really nice, Todd. I bet a large print would look great.

I clearly know less about great ax players than I thought -- but I do know a nice landscape when I see it! This is a great example of composing a scene in your head and nailing exactly what you intended.

What a perfect set up of conditions! Love it!

Very cool Todd! I like how the mountain fades away and the contrast between color in the trees to mountains is awesome.
