I think that's the correct term--a local retail location has several lightboxes approximately 24" x 24" and wants to use my photos in them. I am checking with the shop that does all of my big exhibit printing later today as they probably do it, but I am wondering if any of you have had good experiences with any online outlet that does this type of printing.

Thanks in advance for your advice and/or suggestions! :toast:

In the past we've used ProLab in Seattle with great results and very happy clients. I can't seem to find a web site for them, so I'm not sure they're around any more. If they're gone, I have no doubt Ivey Seright picked up their business, but I see their web site is under major construction.

Bill, I've had several images made as you describe. The printing medium at least Kodak's version is called a Duratrans. It is used a lot for backlit graphic displays in airports. I have a 24 X 30 image of the Grand Canyon on my office window and a local park has one of my 4 X 5 images that was enlarged to 14 feet X 22 feet and divided into 4 foot X 4 foot sections. These sections were put in backlit windows on a wall to simulate an outdoor view. My local pro lab makes a lot of them. They are JW Photolabs.

Thanks Hank and Bill, I'll be checking out the ones you mention. And a local lab. Much appreciated!

I'd lost the word, but Bill has it and is certainly more current than I am: Duratrans.

Thinking business thoughts Bill, I'd check into the lines of displays made for Duratrans. There are lots out there. Your clients might be perfectly happy with what they own, but you might make an additional few bux if you were a dealer and had catalogs available to sell new viewers to replace the old. We did that on a sale years ago, and in fact made as much on the display units as on the Duratrans.
