Black Headed Gull
20D, 400/2.8 + 2x, ISO200, 1/1000 @ f8, Gitzo + 393, C1pro + CS2.

Hi,

Weather not good over the weekend but a short slot of reasonable light on Sunday morning had me driving the two miles to the Marshes on the banks of the Medway to photograph the Gulls. I really enjoy watching and photographing these apart from the great practise they give you with your exposure technique I never tire of their antics even if they are 'common as muck'.

All the best

Unusual pose for such a "common as muck" subject. Superb exposure and BG.

Hi Phil

The bird may be common but your shot certainly isn't - unusual and very pleasing to the eye!

I like behavioural shots and this is a fine example, especially because it raises questions. This make's you ask "what is it doing?" I also think the background has enough texture not to be boring. Well done to get anything during this very wet weekend.

Wouldn't look out of place against John Wayne with that pose.

I like the shot a lot, well done with exposure, bg and pose. Most appealing
