Barn Owl
500mm f7.1 1/640 iso200 Full Frame

Hi all

As 90% of the barn owls I come across nowadays has a leg ring it's always a battle to get a shot in the field where the ring is hidden. I manage it now and again but most times I just have to live with it. But I've been experimenting with a different photoshop technique where I clone out the bulk of the ring and then 'paint in' the feather detail along the edges, blending it in with the Blur and Smudge tools. And to be honest I'm really pleased with the finished result. Just gotta work on the other thousand shots now!
