This image was taken in Norway on a pretty miserable day weather wise. In flight images were a non starter so I tried to record some static subjects and allow the weather conditions to add an extra element to the picture.
It might be too big in the frame and I'd appreciate your feedback on that point and C&C in general.
There are more images from this trip available on my BLOG if you are interested.
Hi Austin, long way to go to get these little fellows
Personally I feel it could be a fraction smaller in frame, but just. Guess you are spending too much time across the pond and are falling into the US format, fill the frame, lol. I think if it was slightly smaller and a tad more at the foot it would sit better within the frame, although it fits the 'rules' I see, but hey... The TS is quite dominant in colour juxtapose to the soft BG colours, so it is a bold piece IMHO. Nice HA, with good detail especially in the whites. Personally would like to see more DOF, but that might have been pushing things based on the techs. BTW, FF or cropped?
Austin, is it worth lightening it slightly in the D brown chest area, at this size it looks a just tad dark, but there is certainly detail, however it be ok at a more normal size. Will you be going 'a bit brighter'?

A lovely image, great detail and I really like the soft focus at the bottom of the frame, and the background soft shades

Great image Austin, excellent colour and detail, I have preference for big in frame and to me this is just right.

Hi all, Thanks again for your feedback, much appreciated.
Steve,
Thanks for your comments on the darkness and I agree, as seen, it could go lighter.
I have observed on a few occasions now that when I resize an image from typically 4000+ pixels on the long side down to the 720 allowed on this forum that the resultant image appears darker. I am used to the sharpness dropping with such an image size change and I fix that as a matter of routine now. With your feedback I think I might have to fix the brightness at the same time.
( time to read the chapter on Actions in Photoshop I think....)
I'd be interested to know if anyone else observes anything similar.

This is about 95% FF Steve, so I could add a small slice back to the bottom but not much.

Beautiful - love the soft light, colours and BG. Really like the soft focus/mush at the bottom of the frame.
