As I said on an earlier post, nailing these little owls in flight is hit and misses. I can’t follow them well enough to hold focus; I struggle to keep them in the frame as they drop so fast. I eventually decided to pre-focus at a range of about 25 to 30 feet. I then kept the out of focus perched bird in view then followed the flight until they started to fly into focus, then hit the button. The strange crop on this one is because the right hand wing tip was out of frame so I went for a close crop of the left hand wing as well, so its a big crop, about 50%.
