Yet another ID needed in SE Georgia USA
Help! Been trying to find this guy in my books and IBird and can not ID it. About 4 came to my feeders and bird bath last month in Brunswick, GA. Now there are about a dozen or more. All are about the same size, but I suspect from several families. I'll get four at a time on the feeders and same in the bird bath. Seem to be so many of them that our cardinals and titmouse's are going elsewhere. Seem a small bit aggressive, but have seen a cardinal and chickadee eating with them. They are gorging themselves almost all day long.

Hoping they are migrating through and will not be here all winter.

For more images to help you ID them, please go to:

Copy the whole link if need be.

Thanks!

Red-winged Blackbird

Interestingly, a pair showed up today that are a little bit bigger and darker. When they fly off, you can see the bright red in the wings. What makes me nuts is the photos I see of the red-winged blackbird shows the red on the shoulder very well when they are standing still. "Mine" you only see it when they fly off. I will have to look on the internet now for the bird and see if someone has images of youngsters and more of the mature birds.

Thank you Richard and Steve for the ID. Never would have come up with that using IBIRD SOUTH on my ipod - arghhhhh!

Thanks Steve! I will look for this book and relegate my others to the reference shelf!
