Great Spotted Woodpecker
This is one from my new woodland feed station. Just a small copse of trees between the A1 and the river trent. Really pleased with this one as I only set the feeders up two weeks ago and began positioning some more attractive perches. C & C Welcome!

Lovely and well composed image, Scott. Nice background and I really like the texture in the tree-trunk.

I love woodpeckers, just don't get them close enough very often. Great shot.

A lovely woodpecker shot, but I think that cropping a little off the top would improve it compositionally.

Good perch the only niggle I have I have is the OOF brown line running down the right hand side.

A really lovely Woodpecker shot Scott. Nice lighting and detail on the bird. I agree with Ian re the OOF brown line on the RHS. Also you could maybe tone down the light circle just below it.

Hi all, thanks for your comments. Ian/Maggie the oof brown streak is quite a large tree! I've cut back the brush to give around ten feet behind the perch to try and diffuse the background. Not sure the landowner wants me to fell his trees  The light circle is now getting on my nerves now you've pointed it out!! Will have a go at toning it down.
