Went out about two weeks ago for some last dahlia shots of the season at Point Defiance Park in Tacoma. At the time, they had already started cutting them down.
This particular shot is a composite of six images to create a wider depth of field, the first time I've tried that technique. I combined them manually in PS.
Canon 50D, 100mm macro, ISO 800, 1/10 sec at f/11, 6 exposures

Excellent job on this Joe, I love your comp. details and the vibrant colors. This was my second year shooting Dahlia's and I am still amazed at the colors they can have. Well done!
Nice one, Joe. Isn't Pt. Defiance great? Bold colors here with spot on pof for the dof you have.

Excellent image, Joe. As Craig said, the comp is spot on. The colors are really vibrant without being over done too. Nicely done.

Nice composition here, this looks like a Firepot Dahlia. Great colors and details. Love these flowers.

Nice shot Joe. Your image combining technique looks good here, since the DOF is perfect. I like how you left a bit of green in the ULC to give some depth to the image.
