Swan take off
Spent the afternoon trying to get swan shots with a slow shutter speed and panning motion,This is the only one where the head is reasonably sharp so have binned the rest

I love this kind of shot and this is the best example I've seen of it.

Absolutely superb and a big,big inspiration.

Hi Dave,

Time very well spent this afternoon. I've had an image like this in my mind for a while, so now have your very high standards to work up to.

Excellent technique.

I would have thought you used a tripod and not handheld??

Well Done

Regards

Rob

Hi Dave

Yes, I like this one. Might be worth tilt/cropping it a touch so that the ripples are more parallel with the frame. Great shot, though.

Dave

In a word, stunning!

You must have great job in switzerland, so much time for photography!

I agree with Malcolm, if the streaks were parallel with the frame it would make a stunning shot perfect.

Brian

PS when are you going to gt back to the ibex?
Posted by Dave Courtenay on March 28, 2006 at 1:58 AM
I have straightened the background lines up abit for you purests
Brian i only moved to Switzerland last December as my wife took a new position in her company so this has allowed me to be a full time photographer for a while so trying to make the most of it,Back to the Ibex soon as snow receeding fast and they should be back on the slopes soon and off the cliff faces,
Thanks for all the comments

Brilliant - I took some very similar images couple of weeks ago but they aren't as good as this - head wasn't sharp as this and also I love the streaked water.

Very artistic and great to look at.

Hello Dave
You're certainly on the button with some excellent images, this one looks asthough it could fly straight out of the screen. Excellent.
Best wishes

Beautiful action-packed shot, Dave. The straightened-up second shot is a big improvement, IMO. Now you just need to create a little more space on the left for the swan to fly into!

Very "Hannu Hattula-ish" - congratulations on a very good shot in this special style, Dave. :toast: Must admit though, that it's not my kind of style - but hey that's my problem
