B&W sometimes brings out a starkness that color doesn't.
I'm not really experienced in this type of processing.
I have some yellow, red, and green filters from film days for mono.
Now processing will do the same thing for digital.
If your are not now trying mono on some of your photos, do so. Sometimes you might be pleasantly surprised.
This is one of my efforts. As usual, the larger formats really help the impact of B&W so realize this is a small rendition.
I darkened the sky and played with various settings on Nikon's Capture NX 2. I'm sure those who have PhotoShop can do more.
Nikon D700, Nikkor 35-105 Manual.

I like the black and white treatment for this image, Larry. Everthing that needs to be tonally separated is. One small thing is that the dark upper left corner does draw attention to itself.

Randy,
Thanks for the reply.
That dark in upper left is my fault. I did not notice it on the original and may be less noticeable on larger version???
But, very good point and I need pointers in B&W.

Nice job Larry, I like the textures in the foreground of this shot, BW seems to really emphasize that for me in this shot.

I think it looks good Larry. Good separation in all the tonal range...Nice job!
