I recently took a 3 day, 1100 mile trip through parts of Central and Western Kansas with my Dad. We were able to hit areas of the state that both of us were born and raised in. Took a lot of pictures and got to spend some real quality time with my Dad.
This is a photograph of the "Little Pyramids" just north of Scott County Lake taken around sunrise. The Little Pyramids aren't as large of a formation as Monument Rocks and not near as well known as Castle Rock so it doesn't get photographed as often. The colors in the grasses around Scott City were amazing the weekend we were there.

Well now that's a photograph!
The subtle tone and color, the texture of the rocks and horizontal lines therein contained contrasted with the verticals of the grass and yucca are very pleasing.
Great composition.
Scott, you continue to rise.

The contrast between the yuccas and the grasses is very striking and makes this image, IMO. I never made it to this spot when I lived in KS, but it's definitely very photogenic and worth more trips out there to get different conditions. Beautiful shot!

Love the grasses and yucca in the foreground. I agree, the grasses really set it off. I hope to find some grass like that yet this fall.

Thanks guys! It was a great trip.
Ken: some really great color was just starting to show up around the Clark County Lake and the Big Basin area when I was there.
