Another one of Wilson Peak in early October. Suggestions always welcomed.
Canon Rebel XTI, tripod
70-200 mm lens
ISO 100, F13 @ 1/2 sec.
Edit: Guess I got my peaks (and days) mixed up! I shot from Wilson Mesa the day before. Duh!! I'm glad you guys are on your toes and know where I shot this (yes, it's Dallas Divide). I, on the other hand, am obviously brain-dead after a rough week at work...
This is a really interesting and unique shot, Angela. The mountain looks really big, imposing and foreboding to me, and the bare trees in that main aspen stand really reinforce that vibe. It's a pretty intense looking autumn image, more Halloween-ish than sumptuous golden groves. I do wish the sky had done you a favor, but it's very cool all the same!

I agree with Jackson that the sky isn't helping here, it looks pretty overexposed to me and this place has some of that patchy autumn color we experienced this year, no fault of yours. otherwise it's a nice comp and I like the early morning glow.

I like this comp! In fact I have a similar angle but at a wider focal length with the 3:2 ratio. Yours was taken further away from the Dallas Divide parking area? Yes, I agree with Jackson. Keep this comp in mind and shoot this with a busier sky.

Since it's unnamed, maybe we can officially name it "Angela's Brain Dead After a Rough Week at Work Peak" Has kind of a nice ring to it...

I like the three layers you captured and the placement of the aspen stand in the middle foreground. The alpenglow on the peak is nice. Too bad about the sky - can't be helped.

Ditto on the sky, but I suffered the same fate all too often this fall. I really like the comp and the light on the peak. Beautiful image.

Really like the tree line in the comp on this one....the sky was unfortunate.
