This was made the morning of the CANP gathering. Harley, Johnny Brown, and my wife and I, wandered all over this nice little valley as the storm approached.

Very nice scene, Preston, I really like the light on the fg grasses. On my laptop monitor the intensity of the yellow leaves seems to blow out any edge detail which just makes it a mass of color that doesn't seem to fit the scene for me; maybe it's the sharpening. Of course a print will be the final test and tell me I'm full of hooey, :  see ya Tuesday.

Thanks, Reno.

Compression is doing a real nember on this. I will look at the master file and check the leaf tonal values, though.

Yep. See you Tuesday. I'm looking forward to it!

PB,

This one is not really rockin' me. I like the colors you captured (although it looks slightly greenish on my monitor in the grass area), but the composition of the back area is not really holding it together for me. The sides kind of feel cut off. I actually like it better with the right side cropped off.

Thanks for your comments! I wasn't sure about this one; that's why I posted it. I may revisit it and look at different crops.

Thanks again,

Preston,

I love the foreground! the grasses and even the little pine saplings make for a visual treat. My only nit pick would be the background up top. For me anyway, this would work much better as a square, cropping down from the top. Just me though.

I like the foreground the most here too. The aspens are quite vibrant and a great focal point as well. For me it's the patches of blank sky that distract me eye slightly.
