Canon 1DsIII, 85mm f/1.2L, 1/40sec @ f/1.2

Craig's wonderfully in focus, wide DOF shot prompted me to post this one with quite the opposite effect. The 85 f/1.2 has such a smooth out of focus quality, called Bokeh, that it creates a dreamy, pleasing image. This was shot wide open and you can see that very little is in sharp focus.

Anyway, a completely different take on one of our most enjoyable subjects.

Comments and critiques appreciated.

Oooh, I really like this - very much a "Fine Art" image. I like the color, composition and depth of field - wonderful job, David!

David,
It's interesting how the tips on some of the pedals are the only parts of the image that are in good focus. I agree with Mary that this is fine art. Very nice! I also love the effect of that F1.2.

I agree David very different, I love the vibrant colors and "Dreamy" effect, very pleasing to the eyes.

Well Done!

Ooooh, yeah! this would be raved about in Flora, I'll bet. Congratulations- only 3 petal tips in focus. LOVE it. Bokeh is sensational.

Awesome shot David! The selective DOF is spot on. I would love to see a big print of this one.
