Just returned from a short trip to Bishop over the weekend. The fall colors at the lower elevations are at peak I suppose and the whole area was simply beautiful. The stormy weather provided some very interesting light which suited my needs perfectly.
My return trip was an adventure in and of itself. Since both Tioga Pass and Sonora Pass were closed, I decided to come via Monitor Pass. The unrelenting rain and thick fog made the drive interesting. I had never been that way before and thoroughly enjoyed the outstanding scenery along Hwy 89 and Hwy 88.
I managed to make some pictures on this trip which I hope to share in the coming weeks/months.
Regards.

glad to hear you had a good trip Anil and good thing the wind didn't hit until last night!! I would've gone to Yosemite valley on sat had the color reports been good, fortunately it wasn't good yet or we would've been forced to make a very long day into an even longer one!! Looking forward to seeing your images.

Hi Cory,
It would have been a very long way for you to get to Yosemite Valley on Saturday because Tioga Pass was closed following Friday night's snowfall. I was crossing over on my way to Bishop and the snow was really coming down hard around 1:00 am on Saturday.
The wind did create some problems while making pictures yesterday morning near Bishop Creek. But later in the day it picked up quite a bit of gusto. In any case, its always fun to be on the east side and I am very glad I made the trip.
Sounds like you had a good time, Anil. I passed through Hope Valley early in October. The color was pretty nice and the light was pretty good, but the wind was really shaking the barley!
Please post some shots!
