Young Stag at Richmond
Didn't see so many Red Deer today at Richmond. This was early doors, among a group of about 5 or 6, then hiked for what seemed like miles before I came across a large lively herd of Fallow, and another small, quiet group of Reds.

Olympus E-3, 300mm f2.8, 1/250s f2.8, iso 640, slight crop.

A little big and tight in the frame perhaps, and the green in the top of the BG seems to compete with the Stag, Maybe toning it down a bit would be better?

Paul Rosser.

Thanks for the comment Paul.

I was thinking the mid-ground bracken was competing, but I wanted to wait and see if anyone else thought that - but I think you are saying it's the tree at the top.

I'll have a play.

Thanks again.

Hi Mark, really nice image. I have to say the tree doesn't really bother me but I do like the way the strip of golden light behind the stags head really lifts it from the bracken. :toast:
