Went out with Gary Haines and Perry Conway to photograph some eagels, falcons, owls and hawks. They use these raptors for educational purposes. Had a lot of fun!

Dan, this is some stunning work here. I am amazed. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th really impress me.

Wild or not, these are beautiful subjects. Great job on capturing the qualities of each. Would be nice if every venture into the wild could produce these kind of opportunities!

Thanks! Great opportunity to practice flight photography. These raptors are fast!

The backgrounds in 2,3 and 4 match the subjects perfectly. Were these backgrounds from the field, or did you produce them during processing?

Thanks Ernie. They were natural. Just added a little saturation to the yellows in #4.

Those are all incredible! The bringht background on the owl photo seems slightly distracting to me, but it is still very nice. Thanks for showing these.

All are very nice, and 3 is really tops. The lighting on the golden is very nice combined with the dark background. His pose gives him a sleek appearance also, as opposed to if his head was more upright.

Great stuff, Dan. Was the Golden, Perry's bird? I shot his golden about 12 years ago, when I was still shooting film, and Goldens do live to about 30+ years. Being a falconer is a real committment in time as well as money and Perry and Gary are both excellent falconers. It's great to see the birds are still doing well!

A very nice series Dan.

Thanks! Yes Don, this was Perry's eagle. Might have to do this again!
Amazing is THE operative word! Stunning work, Dan.

Hey Dan, was away from the internet when I was on vacation for some time and just getting caught up. great work here! My favorites are the first three with probably the first being my favorite. Love the angle of him flying into you and the horizon of the grass is perfectly situated. Maybe next time you could invite a friend along??? LOL

All are excellent, but #'s 2, 3 & 4 are just exemplary! Looks like a couple of stray water drops near the tail of the falcon?
Fine specimens.
Thanks for sharing.
