Mediterranean Gull
EOS 40D EF300mm f/4L IS USM. 1/3200th sec, f/5.6 iso 640 full frame.
Here’s one I took earlier in the year. I was hoping for a pastel effect, so I over exposed by 11/3 stop and upped the saturation a fraction in Aperture 2. I’m planning to have another go this winter, what do you reckon?

Hi a nice image but it looks very flat.

I'm afraid the bird blends into the background too much for me, particularly around the head. Overall the image is perhaps a bit too dark (a tweak of the levels would help a bit). I also find the positioning of the bird in the frame a bit awkward - I think I want more space to the left. The idea is interesting though, and maybe with a bit more snow in the air it might look stronger.

Brighter and with the bird further to the right and I think that would be a cracking shot. Top marks for having a go at something a bit harder.
