(Large) grasshopper just relaxing.
Too much fence and not quite focused enough for any gallery, but I really got a kick out of this and thought I'd post it in case it brightens anyone's day a little bit. I've seen lots of these and hadn't seen one before in quite this mode. He wasn't climbing, either. He appeared to be just relaxing there. :)

As far as I'm concerned this picture is good enough for the galleries. From what I can see it is certainly focused. The fence is no big deal. You could always post it in man and nature but I doubt anyone would say anything if you went ahead and posted it in the macro/closeup gallery. You should go ahead and post these pictures in the galleries and not worry about whether a picture is "good enough." Just post and let others have their say. I haven't seen all of your pictures but from what I have seen, especially some of your "bug and spidey" shots, you seem to have a pretty good eye for a beginner using the equipment that you have.

That is a great grasshopper shot. Thanks for sharing it and for the crablike spiny orb weaver. You are on a roll on insects and spiders. Keep them coming.

Barbara,

Why don't you post this is fauna with the tech info? I agree with Robert.

Hi Barbara, I love the way you've been able to capture the grasshopper's shiny texture! And it seems to me that the background is sufficiently out of focus not to detract from focus on the insect. Thanks for sharing this!

Barbara I think you should definitely post this in Fauna, you've done a great job here.
