I just recently upgraded my Nikon gear to the Canon 5DM2. I also decided to make the 50mm f/1.4 my go to lens. The 50mm for Nikon has always bee my favorite so I went it. And boy, am I happy with my new toys :biggrin:

Here is a sampling of some of my first shots from my own backyard before this crazy storm almost put one of these trees through my bedroom window.

Well, your camera certainly seems to be functioning adequately, but I'd say the credit for three beautiful shots goes to the photographer. Lovely images!

Congrats! And sweet test drive you did there. Have you bought a set of extension tubes? They work great with the 50mm for super up-close work. (and the Kenko set is pretty cheap).

Aleks, Very nice leaf images, the second seems to be floating in air. I bought the plasticky 50mm f1.8 which is tack sharp but not built as well. I posted an image on the October RMNP intimate image contest taken with this lens. I think you'll love the Canon. I'm still thinking about Nikon's 14-24mm wide angle. Come on Canon!

Some pretty stuff there, Aleks. Welcome to Canon. It's funny you mentioned "upgrading" from Nikon to Canon. Them's fightin' words to some folks. I think you'll love your 5DMKii.
