These are great birds Phil, with their stripy PJ's and beady yellow eyes. Good to see it in a natural environment setting. Not sure how close you got here, as they tend to be very skittish, flying off at the slightest movement and not accepting people getting too close unless the bird is tame or captive, LOL. Did it have a kill or just waiting from the stance? Might suggest the removal of the straw bending into frame on the rhs, but no big deal.

15m Phil, that's interesting as it's quite close and obviously it was quite happy for you to get close. The one that frequents the other house is decimating the blackbird & wood pigeons, but has laid off on the collard doves thank goodness, sad for the dunnock though. :wavey:

Thanks for the explanation.

15m, were you in a hide? Would love to capture one of these fellows, so any shot is a good one in my book :toast:

Nice work my friend. You certainly nailed those eyes. All I can say is that a tighter crop might add emphasis.

Great capture Phil I have a lot of these in my garden and do manage to get shots of them, I find if the prey is bigger eg a dove they can t fly off with it so I am able to get full frame shots
