Kansas Creek
Taken last Sunday in the Flint Hills of Kansas.

The leaves were falling with the brisk wind that blew.

Nikon D700, Nikkor 14-24.

I usually don't like creek scenes taken in bright sunlight, but this turned out pretty well. What I like most is the bottom center of the image, with the sunlit leaf and the pattern of blue and white sky reflections leading off to upper right. If the right side had been more in the shade, it would have fit in with the character of the rest of the image better.

Randy,
You make a good point about the right side.
I'll do some processing and see if darkening that area gives more balance.
Thanks for the constructive critique.

Randy,
I've made some changes on the right side.
Comments appreciated.

I think I would compromise between the two...The darker one doesn't look natural. Neat bunch of textures though...Interesting shot.

I agree with Karla on the darks. I think that lone leaf is the grabber in the picture!

Another thing you might look at is cropping out the blown-out spots in the upper middle and upper right of the image.
