Spotted American Crayfish
Came across this formidable monster along one of my local streams this morning...
The European Crayfish are getting really scarse down here as these imported American species are doing well in our waters but carry a fungus wich affects the European ones.

Hope the European ones will survive as they are our native species but only excist in one place over here.

greetings,

Jeroen Stel

Thats certainly a different image. I like the two tone BG and the reflection. The water droplets add a nice touch. What sort of size are these guys?

Unfortunately this seems to be a Spotted American Crayfish after all instead of the European species..
These are between 15 and 20 cm long (this onwas roughly 18cm).

We have exactly the same problem over here, Jeroen, but invasive species or not, it is still a good shot.

Best wishes,

David
