Just returned from a family visit to upstate NY. Got out a couple of mornings before the rain and wind came in. The color was average but found a couple of pockets of good color. Had a great flight with no delays and breezed through security with my backpack.

Great shots. I am from Syracuse and have lived in a few other places in Upstate NY. Can you share the locations for these shots?

RichieV, They were taken on the NY/PA border in the Binghamton area.

The colors do look less than spectacular, but you made the best of it. I like #4 the best, but would recommend cropping off some of the bottom so that it just captures the top of the grasses, and a little off the top. That road shot would be so incredible if the colors were really popping.

Nice series, Don. I really like 3 and 4. Todd's crop idea is a good one for 4. I've noticed some strange artifacts in the sky on 1 and 4 also. BTW, I grew up near Rochester.

I used to live in upstate NY, close to the VT and Mass. borders....this reminds me of the great fall colors we had when I was a kid...thanks!

Nice to see you found some good color Don. I just got back from Philly and NY City last week and the colors were still not quite there. BTW, my best friend is from Binghamton. Did you grow up there?

I really like the images with fog in them. That adds a lot to the mix.
I agree with Todd's advice with #4.
Excellent series, Don! All have good comps, exposures, and a nice variety to the set. Very well done! I also agree with the suggestions.

Don, Very nice series. The fog really makes those shots. When I lived in the DC area I got to NH, VT and NY a few times. Colors there are gorgeous. I miss it.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. Kurt , My wife is from Johnston City and I grew up in Vestal just a few miles from Binghamton. We moved to Colorado in 1986.
@Don - I used to have customers in Vestal and Johnson City and my companies office was in Endicott (guess who). I'll have to invite you over next time I make up a batch of Lupo's Spiedies here.
