Just thought some of you may find this info of interest, I have also included a link to the touring exhibition page where you can find out where and when the exhibition will be in your locality.
Wildly successful
Wildlife Photographer of the Year continues to be very popular with our visitors. As at close of play on 26 March, 100,270 people had visited since its opening on 22 October 2005. This means that the exhibition has welcomed an average of 655 visitors a day which is 37 per cent above target daily average. Estimated out-turn, if this daily average rate continues, will be an excellent 118,610 visitors.
The tour is up my neck of the woods in Kendal now (or very soon) - looking forward to it!
BTW, Phil, what happened regarding the T&Cs of the competition with specific reference to digital B&W images? The rules on the NHM site still say that B&W images "must have been taken on black-and-white film or using the black-and-white setting on your digital camera"
I know the deadline is tomorrow, but I just wondered what's going to happen about B&W prints created from digital, and the fact that many cameras don't have a 'B&W setting', and even those that do still create a colour RAW file.
They are aware of this (error????) so just submit as far as I'm concerned, they know that the RAW will show colour and as far as I am aware all they want is to be able to check that no cloning/significant manipulation has been carried out.
Hopefully the rules will get sorted a lot clearer for next year, have spent some time with them and I think I am starting to get through to them
