As a 4x5 shooter when I shoot BW it is very intentional right down to shooting BW film and hand processing. I cringe at asking this question. But here I go. I shot this bridge over by the Monkey Forest up in Ubud, Bali. My intention when shooting it was color but I ran it as a BW and am now confused.
Opinions? Here it goes --> BW or color? There I said it . I cant believe I am asking this?

Color for me Richie. I like seeing the color of the cloths. I like seeing the color of the rock. I like seeing the color of the vegetation. It is a stunning and fabulous shot. The B&W is good - the color is amazing.

I vote for color, Richie. Wonderful shot.

BW!

I'd go with the b/w version... though I'd like to see a bit darker darks. The b/w version I think emphasizes all the fantastic textures. The color one not so much, and seems a bit flat to me compared to the b/w.
Cool shot anyhow!

B and W. The color makes my eyes act like ping pong balls on crack....moving around the image too fast. I can't appreciate the content. B and W allows the amazing textures and shapes to take center stage.
B Dub! The cloth looks like a tablecloth in color.

BW, but more contrast. The cloth in the color makes me jump all over the image.

Amy is right!! So is Dave!!

I'd say BW but you really need to work this image more for contrast and a way to make those rays show better...nice image though! Have you ever tried NIK silver effects? You might be able to download a trial version of it.

Cool shot, Richie! I'd also say B&W, but I'll add that I think the color version would look better with a lot more saturation. Drag the vibrancy slider to 50-60 in PS and see what happens.

Seems like those prefering color are quickest out of the box, but I'm going with the B&W crowd.

BW for me too. The tree textures and light rays are much more pronounced in that version.

I thought I weighed in earlier, but since I was on the phone and one-handedly typing, I must've forgotten to hit send.
HANDS DOWN b&w!!! Like Dave, the first thing I thought was "tablecloths." The tones and textures in the b&w are just stunning. I didn't even notice the sun star in the color version, but it jumped right out in b&w. Not sure why, since it jumps right out of the color one, too, once I knew it was there.

The b&w one had a visceral impact on me that the color version didn't.

Exact same thing happened with me, too!

First of all congratulations on a great composition. I wouldn't throw out either image there is certainly a place for both. I would give the edge to the B&W and would concur with the suggestions given. Do you know what the purpose of the cloth is?

Not even close to me.. B&W all the way!!!

Another B&W vote. Although, the color isn't bad either. Ditto on the sunstar being noticed there first as well.
Hey Bert, did you ever get my e-mails?

Were it not for the table cloths in the color image , it might be a tie for me, but as is, B&W for sure, but with a bit more contrast and maybe increase the blacks.
