The maples, sycamores and cottonwoods in the canyon of West Fork of Oak Creek near Sedona are peak this week. Seems to be a couple of weeks late this year. Did some quick processing of the jpegs for the web from this morning's quick trip.

Doug, what a nice series. I love #3, the yellow on red. #8 really caught my eye too. Nice work on all of them.

Great series of shots. I really dig #3 and #5. Nice work!

A real fine series from a place many of us don't get to see, Doug.
My favorites are your more intimate compositions, #'s 3 & 8 in particular.
And yeah, I also like the dark branches webbing out against the yellow leaves.
One suggestion...#1 has a fairly strong color cast.
Well done, amigo!

Very nice set! I like 4, 5, and 8. And with 3 right behind those. Good comps on all. Maybe just burn or crop the bright rock in the ulc in #1, and the top of the rock(?) in the lower right edge in #2.

Excellent series, Doug. Some well seen intimate scenes. I've been enjoying my first ever autumn outings in the canyon this week as well. The weather has been awesome, that's for sure!

I'm really likin' those leafy intimates, esp. 3 & 4. The same thing that caught your eye on #4 is what I like about it.

I'm also really fond of #4. Gorgeous color and the dark branches add some graphic impact. Nice work, Doug!

I'm enjoying the intimates too, but I'll add that I also really like #7 and #2. What a fascinating place. You have a good eye!

Love the intimate images. Well done!

Thank you for your comments and preferences. West fork is only 30 minutes down the road from my house, but this was the first time I had been there.
John, All the images were taken in theshade of hte canyon. I stared with WB set on cloudy, but did not make any changes in PP. Regarding the colorcast you see in 1, does it seem to warm? I see a tiny bit of blue tint in #2 which i will need to fix.
Morris, thanks for pointing out the tiny eye catchers.

Well, It seems a bit warm, but not anything out of the ordinary on second thought. When it's fixed, the overall scene then looks too cool.
This is just a half hour from where you live? Looks like a place well worth revisiting again and again!

Very nice series! I like all of them.

Great variety in the intimates Doug. I don't know what it is about rocks showing through the water surface but I just love that! You are very fortunate to literally have this in your backyard
