Date/Time issue with Nikon D300s

I'm having trouble with the Date/Time on my Nikon D300s. I've set the Date/Time in camera and when I record an image the date is right but the time is always opposite the actual time in the image metadata. For example, if I take a shot at 7:30AM it shows up that it was taken at 7:30PM, how can I fix this so it displays the correct AM/PM time? There is no AM/PM setting in the Date/Time menu. Thanks

I also have a D300s. In the Set Up menu/Date & Time the time setting is a 24 hour clock (at least on my camera). To tell you the truth, I've never checked my EXIF data to see if the time is actually right....
