I spent the weekend exploring the lower half of Oak Creek Canyon along the creek. Some nice pockets of color all over the place. This was probably my favorite shot from those outings. I shot this scene both horizontally and vertically, but in the end a square format seemed to suit the scene best.

Wow! This is amazing, Guy!

It certainly is!
You chose the perfect shutter speed to show the power of the running waters, and the colors are sweet indeed.
You might consider removing the bright spot at the right edge of the frame (upper third), as it really caught my eye.
Very minor nit, though.

Guy,
You found a nice run with great leaf colors and a nicely edged rock to make a pour-over. The greens, yellows and golds on the left are catching. along with the white sycamore trunks at the top of the run. You have been nailing the Sedona/Oak Creek area!
How are the colors around Cathedral right now ?

Doug...haven't actually been down there in a while, but am planning to swing through in the next couple of days. I'll let ya know what I find out.

This is so amazing Guy! Absolutely perfect shutter speed. Beautifully smooth but still conveys power. Autumn color is gorgeous with just enough color sprinkled on the rocks.

Wonderful shot. I also love the way the glowing leaves are stationary under the water flowing over the rocks.

Fantastic point of view and wonderful color Guy. The square comp is certainly not bad, but I'm not sure if the left quarter or so is contributing a whole lot to the overall flow of the image and it possesses less autumn color. I might have reconsidered a bit more of a vertical crop, but then again as a usual 35mm/digital shooter I'm often biased against square crops.

Gorgeous! I like the square comp here a lot. Print it HUGE!
